Using this site
This site is published by Rand Thompson Consultants for information about the firm and its work. You may read it, link to it, and quote short passages with attribution. You may not copy it wholesale, scrape it, or present it as your own.
No engagement is created here
Nothing on this site is an offer of employment, a promise to run a search, or professional advice to you. A search is engaged by a written agreement with the client, and an advisory engagement by its own. Candidate representation is agreed with the candidate directly, and candidates are never charged a fee. Conversations create no obligation on either side until both agree otherwise in writing.
Booking a call
Booking a time through the site books a conversation, nothing more. The invitation you receive carries the telephone number or the Zoom link, and a way to move or cancel the call. The firm may need to move a call, and will tell you if it does.
Open roles
Where the firm publishes a search, it publishes what it can stand behind: the title, the sector, the location, the level, and, where the law of the place of work requires it, a good-faith range. The client is named in a first conversation, not in a posting. A listing can be withdrawn at any time.
Insights and commentary
The firm takes care that what it publishes is accurate at the time of writing, and corrects what it learns is wrong. The notes under Insights, and the firm's posts elsewhere, are opinion about the market, offered in good faith and not as a guarantee of anything or as advice for your circumstances.
Your submissions
What you send the firm remains yours. By sending it, you allow the firm to use it for the purpose you sent it, as described in the Privacy page. Do not send confidential information of a current employer or client.
Other sites
The site links to services the firm does not run, among them LinkedIn, the booking calendar, and Zoom. Their own terms apply there.
Intellectual property
The Rand Thompson Consultants name, mark, and the text and design of this site belong to the firm. Photographs are credited on the image credits page and are used under their stated licenses.
Liability
The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, the firm is not liable for loss arising from reliance on the site or from its being unavailable. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any dispute about them is heard in the courts of New York County.
