Description:
Portfolio Analysts are responsible for providing support to one or more Portfolio Managers in servicing client portfolios. They work directly with the Portfolio Managers ensuring all of the firm’s policies and procedures are adhered to in client portfolios to provide seamless servicing of all aspects of these portfolios including account set up, retention of assets, transaction processing (including trade order management), responding to client inquiries and solving account discrepancies. Additionally, they are responsible for the preparation of customized presentations for prospects and existing clients (investment programs, account performance reporting etc.). Wealth Management clients require prompt personalized service for all account information and rely on the Portfolio Analysts for this service.

The Portfolio Analysts act as a liaison between clients, Portfolio Managers and Operation staff, responding to client inquiries in a timely and accurate manner and take full responsibility for the satisfactory completion of such tasks. They are capable of resolving most client service issues independently.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Primary back up to the Portfolio Manager(s) and typically acts as a first point of contact for the clients
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of product offerings and the firm’s Platform
• Remain abreast of the Global Investment Committee views as well as the asset allocations determined by the Americas Regional Investment Committee
• Provides advice to clients on market conditions; product offerings; and product performance
• Bring specific trading ideas to Portfolio Manager’s attention
• Recognize client objectives and restrictions and assist the Portfolio Managers in monitoring accounts to ensure objectives are met and restrictions are adhered to
• Adhering to all regulatory policies and operating procedures; responsible for ensuring proper documentation is on file for all wire requests and following High Risk Media policy
• Diligent in keeping controllable expenses such as overdrafts, errors and claims to a minimum
• Respond to all client requests and inquiries in timely and accurate manner
• Assist with account opening documentation including KYC and AML requirements
• Complete Annual Client Updates (ACUs) as required
• Responsible for Trust Investment Committee (TIC) and Investment Advisory Committee (IAC) documentation
• Responsible for APT Risk Questionnaire and Investment Proposals
• Ensure client documentation is filed and imaged
• Prepare customized reports/summaries and client/prospect presentations
• Attend client/prospect meetings with the Portfolio Manager
• Anticipating and addressing issues before they become significant
• Identifying and suggesting ways to improve current processes
• Assisting with the cross-training of new hires

Skills Required:

  • Spanish speaker
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field
  • 3 years of prior experience in financial services
  • S7 & S63 registered
  • Pursuing CFA Designation or MBA
  • Ability to handle sensitive materials and information with discretion
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes
  • Professional and articulate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; well developed oral and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize work, demonstrating flexibility when handling multiple tasks
  • Ability to produce documents efficiently and error free
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients, managers, and peers
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment while maintaining good temperament and respectful manner
  • Show good judgment in decision making
