JOB OVERVIEW

The Business Development team is responsible for all of our client’s fundraising activity and for liaising with their current and potential investors.  The Investor Relations part of that team focuses on supporting salespeople in their marketing efforts, providing regular reporting for all of the firm’s funds and SMAs and responding to information requests received from investors through due diligence questionnaires, requests for proposal and ad hoc questions.  The associate position is responsible for supporting North American based business development and investor relations responsibilities. The role will have direct engagement with current investors as well as direct involvement in the business development and fundraising efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client Communication and Meetings
    • Day to day ad hoc communication with clients (email, telephone, in person)
    • Prepare presentations, handouts, analysis and briefing packs ahead of client meetings
    • Participation in and contribute to face to face client meetings when needed
  • Project Management & Briefing:
    • Before meetings ensure all hayfin participants are briefed on the history, context and goals
    • Following meetings ensure all participants are aware of next step/action items and the expected timelines
    • Work with senior team members to develop and maintain project plans for major/ongoing initiatives
  • Client Database Maintenance:
    • Maintaining CRM system with most up to date investor and prospect data
    • Updating notes after meetings, calls or other interactions
    • Regular and ad hoc reporting from the system
    • Entering new clients and contacts
  • Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs):
    • Completion of regular and ad hoc requests for information from clients
    • Work with teams across the business lines to gather necessary information
    • Draft answers to questions which provide requested information while positioning the firm positively
    • Maintain an up to date list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Relevant undergraduate degree (finance, economics, business etc.)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Intermediate Excel: formulas, pivot tables, basic data management techniques

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of private credit markets
  • Experience in marketing, sales, client communication etc.
  • Technical financial modelling and analysis training and experience
